Yoga for Health, Wellbeing and Personal Transformation

The Mohans - International Teacher Training Program.
3 years in-depth training in authentic Yoga, specialising in therapeutic Yoga.

Program

The Source: Authentic Yoga

“The Diploma for the Teaching of the Science and Art of Yoga”, offers a unique opportunity to make an in-depth study of authentic yoga. The course is taught by the Mohans, masters of yoga who command international respect, under the title “Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda”. The Sanskrit word “Svastha” refers to our inner balance, a state in which the body remains healthy and the mind calm. Sri A.G. Mohan and his wife Indra Mohan have been practicing Yoga for over 30 years.

Yoga has become hugely popular over the past decade. The greatest influence on the Yoga taught today is the legendary master of Yoga, the most important of the past century: Sri T. Krishnamacharya. Virtually all the styles of Yoga practiced today have been influenced by his seminal teachings. Sri T. Krishnamacharya was outstanding in various fields: he was a master of Yoga, obtained the equivalent to a postgraduate degree in all the systems of the ancient Indian philosophy from renowned Universities of traditional India and was a prestigious healer.

The Masters

Sri A.G. Mohan was one of the few to study personally with this legendary master. He studied in the traditional manner with Sri. T. Krishnamacharya for over 18 years (from 1971 until his death in 1989). He was also cofounder of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai (India) in 1976. Sri A.G. Mohan is an internationally renowned master of yoga in his own right. His first book “Yoga for Body, Breath and Mind”, published in 1993, is a classic and is used as a textbook in many teaching programs throughout the world. He is the translator of “Yoga Yajnavalkya”, one of the most significant texts on ancient yoga. His last book, “Yoga Therapy”, co-authored by his wife and son, was published in 2004 by “Shambhala Publications”. He has been invited to teach in countries and cities worldwide, including USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore, amongst others.

Indra Mohan is one of the few to receive a diploma in yoga from Sri. T Krishnamacharya himself. He has been teaching yoga for over 30 years. His contribution to the work of Sri. A.G. Mohan has been essential at all times. He has accompanied him on most of his journeys and is well known for his qualities as a Therapeutic yogi.

Ganesh Mohan, the son of A.G Mohan and Indra Mohan, was trained from childhood in Yoga and other related disciplines such as Vedic Chants and rituals. He is a doctor, trained both in modern medicine and the Ayurveda (Traditional Indian Medicine). He is co-author of the last work by the Mohans, “Yoga Therapy”, together with his parents. He assists them in their teaching work, providing additional discoveries in the use of yoga and the ayurveda as a therapy and in how they can be linked to modern science and medicine. In addition to his teaching work, he continues to study and research the therapeutic uses of yoga and the ayurveda, together with other related fields of traditional wisdom, while intensifying his practice of yoga.

Teaching Program

This comprehensive Yoga program with an introduction to the basics and common applications of the Ayurveda is taught in 3 modules over 3 years. Every aspect of Yoga is covered in depth: for health, fitness, curing (therapeutic yoga) and for personal and spiritual transformation.

The learning program was designed to make a systematic presentation of authentic yoga to a modern audience, merging the best of the current teaching methods with traditional knowledge. It is designed to convey real information within a rational, practical framework, to enable and motivate students to work positively towards their own personal transformation.

Program description

We all seek happiness and mental peace, but it is not only external events which perturb us. The inner flow of thoughts and emotions affects us. No one is free from rage, ire or sadness. Yoga is an ancient tradition and science, removed from the passage of time, which helps us to understand how our mind works, offering us powerful tools to reduce unwanted emotions, and to change the nature of our mind by aligning it with the path to peace of mind.

This seminar first reviews what yoga says about emotions, and then explores practical techniques to maintain our mental balance.

Presented by Sri. A.G. Mohan, Indra Mohan and Ganesh Mohan.
